Weekly Activities

Posted on May 18, 2022May 18, 2022 By Mark McGee

Club Rides

These rides are usually on a Sunday, but may change due to weather or other circumstances, so please check the facebook page or group for information.

See the rides page for calendar and full details of all available club organised rides.

Contact: Mark McGee (membership@madcc.org.uk)

Club Run With Cafe Stop – usually starts Old Police Station, Maldon @ 9:00 am. No-drop. Pace of slowest rider.

Training Ride (rarely has a cafe stop) – usually starts Old Police Station, Maldon @ 9:30 am. Avg speed 18mph+ with “burn-ups”. Ride will wait for any dropped rider at the next major junction if safe to do so.

Chain Gang

Every Thursday from mid-April through to August (as evening daylight permits.)

Meeting/Finishing point. Beckingham Business Park, Tolleshunt Major

Last group off 7pm sharp

If attendance allows we will organise into 2 or 3 groups and set off at intervals as a “hare and hounds” ride with the faster groups setting off after the slower groups, each attempting to catch the group ahead.

NOTE: This is an advanced training ride. You will need to be confident and be able to ride safely in a group moving at speed.

Contact: Mark McGee (membership@madcc.org.uk)

Evening Time Trials

Every Tuesday evening from mid-April to late August.

Meeting point: Star Inn, Steeple

Contact: Colin Edmond (clubtts@madcc.org.uk)

First rider off at 7pm. Registration from 6 pm (note start times are earlier at the start and end of the season as daylight allows – please look at the events calendar for precise start information)

All abilities and bike types welcome – you don’t need a time-trial bike to ride a time trial. Why not come and give it a go and then chat about it over a meal in the pub afterwards?

Saturday Time Trials

These start in late August/September – details to follow

Announcements, Chain-Gang, Club Rides, Racing, TimeTrial
