  • Alex Dowsett - 2nd, GHS National Final (National Schoolboy's & Schoolgirl's 10m Time Trial Championships).
    Press report:
"Schoolboy cyclist Alex Dowsett from Cock Clarks showed the rest of the country what he is made of by finishing runner up in the National 10 mile time trial Championships for riders under 17, held in the Midlands on Saturday. Alex, who rides for the Maldon & District Cycling Club only began racing a little over a year ago but was soon beating the seniors. His progress this year has been little short of breathtaking and shows a real potential for Olympic level success when he has fully developed. Alex covered the ten mile course in a time of 21 minutes and 12 seconds and was only beaten in the 100 rider field by 16 year old Ian Stannard  (Team Luciano) with 20.59. As the championship was open to riders under the age of 17, Alex still has two more opportunities to go on to the highest step on the podium."

Alex Dowsett riding his way to a silver medal.
